I am a native of China, and after gaining my undergraduate and graduate degrees in the UK and working in China and South Asia for a couple of years, I joined Emerging Asia. The opportunity to help major international companies gain market insights and create positive change were the major drivers in my decision to work at Emerging Asia.
Emerging Asia is involved in a wide range of industries and on the cutting edge of business. I have had the opportunity to work for pharmaceutical, medical, consumer, energy and TMT companies.
During my time, I have undertaken projects with consultants from the USA, and all across Asia. My consulting work has focused on conducting research, analyzing information and creating in-depth reports. Multi-tasking is also important here, and I have been involved in business development initiatives in order to identify potential clients and win their business.
I started at Emerging Asia as a Junior Consultant, and was promoted to Consultant and then to Senior Consultant. As a Senior Consultant I have managed some fairly large projects and worked closely with clients in China as well as overseas, serving as the main day to day point of contact, and presenting in meetings.
I am currently working with a South Asian company that produces speciality industrial chemicals. I am helping them understand the Chinese market, the potential customers here, and then helping them arrange business development meetings in China. The technical expertise and the complexity of the project make it a very interesting and challenging project.
