Summer 2006
Emerging Asia began its internship program in Summer 2006 with two interns, one each from Cornell University and the University of Michigan.
Based on the success of those internships, we have decided intiate internships in the Fall and Spring in addition to the Summer.
Our Summer 2006 interns focused on the following areas:
- Conducted secondary research and assembled economic and other stability indicators for two countries that we cover. In the process, they became 'experts' on those countries, developing a wide knowledge of the economic, social and political trends within each country.
- Created a forecasting and correlation model using various historical and projected indicators
- Created a business development database for portfolio managers and hedge funds
- Read articles and book chapters on the use of economic indicators and political risk analysis
